Day 8
Mt. Phillips 11,711 feet.
We reached the summit of
Mt Phillips
late morning. After we caught our breath again we
took a few pictures.
Our crew leader took the opportunity to take a break.
We spent about an hour
and it was a
wonderful experience but we still had more
of Philmont to see.
One of our good Cub
Scout friends loaned us
a GPS unit for the trip. It was a great opportunity for
all of us to learn a little about the technology.
Our next camp was Clear
Creek. Trapping and
black powder were the activities but the staff
were really the show. These guys were different.
After a little dinner it was time for bed.
